Sri Lanka Hydrographic Service Launch Defence Chart and Ceremonial Chart
Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service launched new defence chart specially prepared for the ‘Sail Fast’ in 71st National Day celebration. The defence chart ‘Colombo and Approaches’ was produced with the latest survey data acquired from Indo- Sri Lanka joint survey as well as surveys conducted by the SLNHS for the navigational purpose of SLN fleet, which is operating very close proximity to the coast off Colombo. SLN was in need of accurate and updated chart while operating near to the coast as frequent change in the topography and bathymetry due to ongoing reclamation activities along the coastal stretch of the Colombo area.
Further, Sri Lanka Hydrographic Service produced its first Ceremonial Chart of 71st National Day. The chart depicts the SLN fleet that took part to the national day sail fast.
