Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs) Production Training Programme
Certificate awarding ceremony of the training programme on awareness and production of Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs) was held on 10th December 2021 at Light House Galley, Colombo marking the successful completion of the event. The training programme offered by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office was conducted for three weeks since 23rd November and five each participants from Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS) and National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) received certificates.
During the ceremony, Mr. Jeremy Kitchker commended the all arrangements leading to the successful completion of the training progrmme and appreciated the hard work and dedication of all course participants. He specially thanked for the country visits arranged during their stay. Joining on virtual platform, Mr. Timothy Lewis, Head of Partnering and engagement- Middle East and Africa of UKHO mentioned that UKHO will continue to support capacity building efforts in order to uplift hydrography in Sri Lanka.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Captain (H) Sujeewa Weerasuriya, Director Hydrographic Operations of SLNHS, Mr. Roshan Ranaweera of NARA and Mr. Richard Coyles, International trainer at UKHO.
