Hydrographic Survey Assistance to 71st Navy Day Celebrations
Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS) conducted Side Scan Sonar survey in sea area off Galle Face Green to ensure bottom clearance prior anchoring Capital Ships in parallel to 71st Navy day celebrations.
One tetrapod was located During the Survey approx. 280 m South of South entrance to the Port City and later remove by Navy Divers with the assistance of Port City authorities.
Survey date gathered were used to further enhance the existing Navigation Chart (SLN 1018 and SLN 1020) released by SLNHS in Year 2020 and 2021.
